50-year-old Bombay anti-begging legislation is itself begging to be reviewed in the context of current situation of beggars in India and consequently changed to address the beggary problem. Many children and very yound kids are losing their childhood, education, basic living standards, etc. to the monster of beggary which is growing day in and day out, engulfing countless lives, familes and dreams. Morever, beggars are every redlight at outside any and every tourist place are both, a bad reputation on India's status as well as an annoyance for tourists, passer-bys and commuters. There are criminal gangs too who thrive by not just making people beg for them, but also engaging these beggars into criminal activities, all for a small amounts of money for food. Please endorse this request to social welfare departments of state governments to not just remove these beggars from the streets of the country but engage them in socially productive works, so that they can earn a living instead of, well begging one.
