Call for Direct Flight from Muscat to Goa

Created by Ami Goenkar on February 1, 2010, 12:59 am in Others

Dear Sir/Madam

We, the Non-resident Indians from the western Indian state of Goa working and residing in Oman and the travelers who have attached our names to this petition, would like to request that airlines introduce a direct flight service from MUSCAT to GOA.

This will be a win-win proposition for both the airlines and the passengers for the following reasons:

Currently, no airline offers a direct flight service from MUSCAT to GOA and all Goans living in Oman are either forced to take transit flights from Doha or Sharjah or continue with the age-old practice of taking a connecting flight to Goa from Mumbai.
A direct flight will not only make the journey home not so long and smooth, but it will also eliminate the often chaotic and unpleasant process of going thorough the same security checks again, carrying/loading/unloading of baggage etc at congested and busy connecting airports.

Also, Goa is one of the all time favorite tourist destinations in Asia and Muscat is fast emerging as a tourism powerhouse in Middle East. A direct flight will propel the flow of tourists and business people between this two favorite holiday spots.
Airlines officials in India often cite the reason of not having enough aircraft for direct services to Goa and the Gulf but we have always found them operating additional aircrafts to Goa during Xmas and New Year holidays.

Dear travelers, we have made repeated requests to politicians and transport officials in India and various airlines in this regard and we would appreciate your valuable support in putting forward this petition once again as a reminder to it.

Respectfully submitted by

112.5 months ago  Vincy Quadros I support this petition. When I was in Muscat, I met so many Goans. They were requesting us to make an earnest request to the Government of Goa to persue the matter of having direct flight to Muscat. NRG-s often travel to Goa which is a proud moments for Goans too. We all support the petition to have a direct flight to Muscat so that we, one day could easily land to Muscat and enjoy holidaying.
