Support National Pride, Asian Games and boycott INDIA Vs NZ Cricket Series.

Support National Pride, Asian Games and boycott INDIA Vs NZ Cricket Series.

Created by: Reza Arif on June 4, 2010, 12:51 pm

BCCI has openly put commercial interests ahead of National Pride and refused to send even a second string team to the Asian Games. The Asian Games is a matter of pride for almost all athletes but BCCI has hardly any ex-athletes, sportsmen in the management structure to understand this!

As a mark of protest, I propose to gather support for this movement to boycott the IND-NZ bilateral series. If thousands of people support this petition then BCCI might be forced to sit up and take notice. It might not be able to send a team to the Asian Games, but if we get enough support, BCCI will have to think twice before taking such decisions in the future!

The reasons for this petition are given below..

1. There is no dearth of cricketing youngsters / players in this country. One look at all the IPL teams will give you more than the required number of players. So BCCI\'s reason of another series / too much cricket is a blatant lie. Asian Games is a T20 tournament and IND Vs NZ is a Test / ODI tournament. The teams are anyway a bit different!

2. BCCI seems to have problems sending a team under the aegis of the IOA. This needs to be looked into.

3. BCCI is becoming more and more autocratic and controlled more by politicians than sportsmen. Very soon, more and more scams will be exposed in BCCI and this might spoil the very spirit of cricket and break it\'s strong foundations in the country where its treated more like a religion.

4. BCCI should support the spread of the game of Cricket through events like Asian Games etc.

5. National Pride should always be ahead of commercial interests. All Indians should stand up and be counted to support this initiative.

INDIANS - STAND UP AND BE COUNTED!!
