I support this petition. I could not believe my eyes when I was exposed to this program. Why in the world were so many animals murdered? He wasn't "lost" and he wasn't starving. I'm absolutely appalled that this program has gone on for so long!

It is fine to teach people how to survive, but the host of the show is definitely not in any such situation during the show, and even if he really is in such a situation, he's brought it upon himself. Its ironical to see discovery channel showing beautiful animals in one show and then killing those animals in the next show.

I support this petition. I just wanted to give my two cents on the gratuitous nature of the show man vs wild. The very name of the show gives away the disillusionment that humans find themselves in today; thinking that we are at war with nature and somehow not a part of it. Humans were once wild but we have been tamed over the centuries by our social conventions and civilization. The show should really be called "tame confused human vs wild". The way this show portrays the killing of animals for food is a mockery to the hunter/gatherer tradition of humans past. There is no ritual or respect in his killings and it's simply unnecessary. I understand that everything eats everything and I believe the ouroboros (a snake eating its tail) is a true symbol of nature and the universe as a whole but I just can't see how this man can justify killing and eating animals that he doesn't truly need.
