Medha Kulkarni - BJP Corporator from Pune and Standing Committee member has violated the law by being directly or indirectly involved in multiple cases of illegal and unauthorised constructions in Pune.
1. She and her husband Vishram Kulkarni have constructed additional floors in a building that they acquired on lease from the PMC. This is located Opp. Sharda Center in Erandwane where they have started a gym and Ayurvedic Massage Center.
2. She is also involved in an illegal land grabbing case, where she and her husband had encroached upon land belonging to a housing society. This is located Opp. the Karve Road telephone exchange at Nal Stop. The Pune Municipal Corporation issued a demolition order in June, 2009 against which the Kulkarni's appealed in court. The illegal construction was razed on December 1, 2009 after the High Court dismissed their plea for injunction.
From the above two facts, it is proven beyond doubt that Medha Kulkarni has been involved in illegal constructions.
I would like to bring to the readers' attention section 10(1D) of the BPMC Act, 1949 which clearly describes that - a Councillor may be disqualified if he or his spouse or dependent constructs any illegal or unauthorized structure. It also states that the power to disqualify such Councillor rests with the Municipal Commissioner.
I herewith request the Pune Municipal Commissioner to take cognizance of this matter and to disqualify Medha Kulkarni and prevent politicians from further being involved in such land grabbing and illegal activities.
