Recently caste based reservations have been a hot topic across country. But just giving seats like freebies is not going to help those students who are weak in studies. Once inside the schools and institutes they'll find it difficult to graduate. There have been instances where students scoring very low marks, of the order of a few percentages, have secured seats in academic institutions. Later on these students are forced to drop out if they are not able to cope with the academic load and requirements. HRD ministry is requested to ensure at least a minimum cutoff level for these students to get into the reserved seats. This will ensure that minimum academic standards are maintained. Otherwise the day is not far when companies coming for recruitment will be forced to segregate students on the basis of caste, that is, the reservation status of the seat they are holding in the institute.
