Legal Status for Domestic Workers

In organized sectors the workers are enjoying a lot of job-benefits, which are even legally identified and well-defined. Whereas, domestic sector is completely in disarray when it comes to benefits for domestic workers. Leave aside benefits they are not even recognized as workers till now. And it can't happen till they get legal recognition.

Some local groups of domestic workers are pursuing the case with local administration and with state governments, but a pan-India legislation is required to provide uniform benefits to all domestic workers across the country.

State and Central Governments are requested to recognize the problem of exploitation of domestic workers for lack of legal recognition and work towards organizing the domestic sector too.
