Getting into IIMs is more difficult than getting into Harvard, they say. CAT is the single entity that perks up IIMs & their standards to the top most position.
But this exam has been a huge disappointment in terms of execution, conduct and content.
This paper lacked transparency, standard and was disappointing to say the least.
What is the marking scheme ? How will the final selection be made? Without knowing these parameters which are so vital in deciding a candidate\'s performance, how can the IIMs filter out the creamy part of the management brains in this country?

CAT has been unfair right from day one. There were so many technical problems faced by the students which can not be equated to retest at all. People had to wait for 4-5 hours to give the test.
Even if it is for few thousand people, they should have done even if it was for 100 students. For IIMs 100 is just a number and a very small percentage but for those 100 people its life changing momment. It can make or break their life.
Also has anyone given an exam before without knowing the marking scheme? Your complete strategy depends on that, say if its 1/4 negative or 1/3 negative or 1/2 negative your way of answering the paper would and definately should change. I strongly beleive that IIMs should give up there ego and conduct a paper pencil test this year.

To me, the massive hue and cry about the unfair nature of the online exam this year holds a credibility of atleast 10%. How can we allow an entropy of even 10% in a system where in only 0.5% of the candidates get to join their dream institutes that too after embarking a feat of being in the top 1% of the country. Forget about 10%, an error margin of even 1% is enough to affect the deserving.
